Teaching middle eastern dance technique
Zahara was trained in classical ballet technique (Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD)) and has danced and performed middle eastern dance/bellydance (raks sharki) in the United States and Turkey for more than 15 years. She has studied middle eastern dance in the USA with some of the international “greats” of bellydance, including Nadia Hamdi, Suhaila Salimpour, Eva Cernik, Artemis, Laurel Victoria Gray, Amustela, Jaka, Morocco, Nimeera, Latifa, Katayoun, Adriana, Cha L’Mar, and Jillina (Bellydance Superstars), and continues to hone her technique and skills through workshops and seminars with some of the best dance teachers and performers. Her styles include Egyptian Cabaret, Beledi, Turkish Cabaret, Karsilama, Khaleeji , Ghawazi. The emphasis in her classes is to have fun, enjoy the dance, develop core competency in foundation movements, and for students to find their own style. Zahara is a JWAAD certified instructor of safe bellydance.
